Final Event ~ Blackthorn Cafe

It's the final day and we had a party at Blackthorn Cafe in the downtown of Ottawa. It was nice to talk with lots of people face to face, some of whom I just had known on-line and also some previously unknown to me. As time passed, they got to be relaxed...hm..it might be too relaxed(drunken?) Most of them were real Linux kernel hackers. Some of them were young, some were old. Some of them were famous, others were not, some of them were already known to me and some were introduced to me by someone else. They came from all over the world, literally, and were sharing a good time together here. I found out that OLS is the largest festival for Linux kernel hackers, which isn't led by any special company at all. It is just a BOF user community, but on a quite huge scale, though. It seems that they just do whatever they are curious about and basically hate to have anything imposed on them. I felt that I was so lucky to attend this nice festival for nerds. I really appreciate my current company paying for me to visit here and also I am proud of the fact that I belonged to my ex-company(Guys, agree?). Most of my ex-colleagues have already left that company, but fortunately we were able to meet here and have a good talk . Greg-KH quoted in his keynote, "Linux is not intelligent design, Linux is evolution. by Linus Torvalds" I totally agree with him. It's a movement which is going towards the ideal, and this is being done in a good way by thousands of people. I like them, some of them are a little bit strange rather than normal;) They are probably smart....beyond my imagination... I wish that I could come here again, after some growth:) Anyway, the festival is over. I will hack it again. Let's enjoy!
